New York Yankees Style – Day 3!

“I never dreamed anything could be so soft and fluffy.” – Paul O’Neill

Well we know he wasn’t talking about his on-field personality, that’s for sure. In fact that’s a quote from a Seinfeld episode where George convinces the owner of the Yankees to switch from polyester to cotton uniforms… and then promptly shrinks them, ruining everything. Picturing a team of Yanks trying to waddle around in shrunken uniforms, including Don Mattingly splitting his pants, gave me quite a giggle fit, and a bit of inspiration to start today’s outfit!

I usually do a more casual pairing for the last two days of each week, but I decided to go a bit off the beaten path and try something different. While it’s not jeans-and-a-tee casual, this pencil skirt and cropped sweatshirt combo is comfy enough to sit through a game, but with the clutch and wedges, still fun enough to wear out for drinks after. The sunglasses, purse, ring, and skirt are all from local NY companies, so you’ll be repping your team and your city with style and pride.

And if picturing Don Mattingly splitting shrunken pants doesn’t get you inspired to try a pencil skirt, there’s always Flanders in his ski pants. You’ll feel like you’re wearing… nothin at all! 😉
