Chicago Cubs – World Series Style Part 1!

Clearly they didn’t let the playoffs get their goat…

The beloved Cubbies have finally broken the curse of Murphy the goat, and made it back to the big game for the first time since 1945! Earlier this season, I alluded to the idea that maybe a goat skin bag, or similar paraphernalia, could help bust the barrier into the playoffs. I’m not saying it helped… But I’m certainly not saying it didn’t. I also was fortunate enough to make my very first pilgrimage to Wrigley Field this year, so maybe they’re we just waitin on me all this time? 😉 Truthfully though, the Cubs just have a masterful team this year, and they dominated the entire season. I was so happy for the team to be kicking ass that I wasn’t even that upset when they swept my Mets back in July (and honestly, we were playing like sludge at that point anyway!)

I put together a fun postseason look with lots of pieces both made by, and sold by Chicago based companies and artisans. I already used ivy rings and bear cub necklaces in my earlier outfits this season, so I turned to the locals to see what they could provide – and I wasn’t disappointed! As the first two games of the World Series are being played in Cleveland, I opted for some away-grey pants to tone down the sparkly top and bold blue jacket. As I’m sure it’s already getting chilly over Chicago-way, I added in a lovely neutral scarf before layering on some jewelry – all locally made. I didn’t want to put too much red into the look, as the Indians share that color with the Cubbies, so I just found a great Chicago-made bag in red to balance out the scrappy blue flats. You certainly won’t get lost in the ivy with this look, so get out there and rep your Cubs in style!
